Owen Osei

Background

Owen Osei is on the faculty of the Department of Management and holds a doctoral clinical degree from RMIT University and is licensed to practice. Before Porter, Owen directed a small-business development center.

Owen brings that practice into the classroom, teaching from real cases and current standards in business ethics and entrepreneurship and new ventures.

Teaching

Owen regularly teaches courses in Business Administration, Leadership Studies, Entrepreneurship. Specific sections and syllabi are listed in the class schedule each term.

Class time is built around cases and real deliverables. Students work to professional standards, present to a critique or a client-style panel, and revise. Owen keeps the connection to current practice explicit.

Advising and office hours

Owen advises students in the Management programs and holds weekly office hours during the fall and spring terms, posted on the office door and in the course pages. Prospective students are welcome to email to arrange a visit or a call.

Advising conversations usually cover course sequencing, whether to add a minor or a concentration, and how classroom work connects to internships, research, or graduate study. Students who are undecided are welcome; part of the job is helping them narrow things down.

Recent and representative work

Owen stays active in practice alongside teaching, through consulting, standards work, and applied projects in business ethics and entrepreneurship and new ventures. Representative items:

• An applied project in business ethics with an industry or community partner.
• A workshop or short course on entrepreneurship and new ventures for practitioners in the region.
• Service on a standards, licensing, or advisory body related to business ethics.
